
The BMS is the battery’s brain. It protects against over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, and temperature damage. A basic BMS does the minimum. A quality BMS adds cell balancing (so all cells age evenly), accurate SOC reading, and stable communication with the inverter. If the BMS fails, the whole battery fails — even if the cells are good. A better BMS adds cost but prevents early death.
